Description
The sharp-looking step up from the 40
The Cane Creek Fifty slots in between the 40 and the Hellbender 70, with extra machining on the top cover and cups and laser-etched graphics for a sharper, more modern look.
It comes as a complete headset with a sealed steel crown race, and they rate it as one of the first upgrades worth making over a stock headset.
The Inside Line:
For riders who want their front end to look as good as it feels. Quiet, tight and smooth, with enough angles to keep the trailside car park impressed.
Features:
- Complete headset with sealed steel crown race
- Machined top cover and cups
- Laser-etched graphics
- Interlok spacer-compatible top cover
- Engineered by Cane Creek in Fletcher, North Carolina
Notes:
- Black only.
- Canyon and Santa Cruz fits are specific to those frames - check your frame spec.
How to find your headset size:
- Cane Creek use the S.H.I.S. code, e.g. ZS44/28.6 | ZS56/40. The part before the bar is the top of the headset, the part after it is the bottom.
- The letters tell you how the cup sits: IS = integrated (the bearing drops straight into the frame), ZS = zero stack (a cup pressed inside the head tube), EC = external cup (the cup sits outside the head tube).
- The first number is the head tube bore in mm (e.g. 44 or 56).
- The second number is the steerer size it fits: 25.4 or 26 = 1", 28.6 or 30 = 1-1/8", 33 = 1-1/4", 38.1 or 40 = 1.5" (tapered forks are 1-1/8" at the top and 1.5" at the bottom).
- Most bike brands list the code on their spec sheet. If yours doesn't, check the Headset Code Breaker chart in the image gallery, or send us your bike's make, model and year and we'll find it for you.
