e*thirteen Helix Race Carbon cranks are the most advanced cranks they've made: carbon arms on a machined 30mm aluminium spindle with an 8-lobe splined interface. The arms weigh just 366g (170mm), or around 415g with a 32T ring, and they meet ASTM 4 (all-mountain) test standards.

They use an 8-bolt chainring interface with a twist: the Helix Race 8-bolt chainring locks on with just four bolts to save more weight.

The Inside Line:
Light enough for your XC race bike, tough enough for your trail bike. The only thing they can't do is make your riding as good as these look.
