Formula MOD Coil Shock

Sensitivity, control and reliability

The Formula MOD is an enduro and all-mountain coil shock made in Italy. A high-flow damping circuit with a 30mm internal piston and a large-volume bladder (instead of an internal floating piston) give it superb small-bump sensitivity and grip, and let it run cooler for a consistent feel on long descents.

Mid and end-stroke are controlled by Formula's Compression Tuning System (CTS): rider-changeable valves that increase or decrease the oil flow, so you can tune the shock to the way you ride without sending it away. Gold (light), orange (mid) and green (firm) valves come in the box. A simple polyurethane bump-stop prevents harsh bottom-outs, and the MOD can be serviced at home with major intervals every 200 hours.

• Standard: 210x55, 230x65 (shorter strokes with reducers: 210x47.5-52.5, 230x57.5-62.5)
• Trunnion: 185x55, 205x65 (185x47.5-52.5, 205x57.5-62.5 with reducers)
• Yoke trunnion: 185x55 (for bikes with a yoke-driven shock)

Getting the right setup

Formula shocks don't need a custom tune for your frame: the Compression Tuning System (CTS) valves and the wide adjustment range let you dial them in yourself. What you do need to get right is the size, the spring and the mounting hardware. Send us your bike (model and year), shock size and your riding weight (with gear) and we'll confirm the shock size, spring rate and hardware before we order.
