Bottom brackets live in the worst spot on your bike: low, wet and right in the firing line of everything your front wheel throws at them. Hope's Ceramic Bottom Bracket is built to cop it, with ceramic bearings in stainless races held in CNC-machined aluminium cups, plus free-running seals that keep the grime out without adding drag.

It threads into a standard BSA shell and suits 24mm crank spindles from Shimano, Race Face, FSA and more, in a bunch of anodised colours to match the rest of your Hope bling.

Technologies:
Ceramic Bearings
Ceramic balls running in stainless steel races give lower friction than a standard steel bearing, and the bearings are replaceable, so the cups can keep going long after the bearings are worn.

Labyrinth Seals
Free-running labyrinth seals protect the bearings from water and muck while adding less drag than a conventional contact seal.

The Inside Line:
Most stock bottom brackets are basically consumables. Hope's are the opposite: fit one, forget about it, and enjoy the smug feeling when your mates are swapping out another crunchy BB. The ceramic version is the fancy-pants option for riders who want that little bit less friction, and it looks a lot better peeking out from under the cranks too.
